High Heels and Machine Guns

It has always amazed me how difference is seen as a threat.  Difference to believe in what we see as right. Difference to be seen as equal. Difference to be ourselves. Difference to live our lives as we feel comfortable. But, merge them all together and combine it with religion, and attitude is to create havoc on society in general.
links2love.com
Being part of the gay community, we have asked for respect and dignity to be who we are.  Not once have we sought acceptance through violence and loss of life.  Instead, we have stood unashamed of our sexuality and individuality. We have stood side by side on floats,  and in gay bars worldwide, to show our solidarity for our equality and rights.  We have marched to a different drum - a drum that begs individuality; a drum that begs equality; a drum that begs acceptance to be who we are and to believe in our place in society.
Yes, in God's eye (no matter what faith or disposition) we are seen as equal. God in anyone's language is love. Love is, and should be, the corner stone to all. That same love is fundamentally our right through our faith. That faith should be be encouraged, be it black, white, male, female, and that love, as long as it does not physically harm anyone, should be the corner stone of humanity.
For centuries we have seen wars based on religion. We have seen wars based on power.  But, not once, have we seen wars based on sexuality.  We have seen many religions dependent on sexual sanctity, but has that sanctity been one of trust and love. We have seen young men and women used and abused sexually by our so called ‘chosen by God’ leaders.

We have seen payoffs, standoffs and putoffs by our spiritual leaders, all in the name of love. However, say that two people of the same sex have that love connection, and they are doomed, despite their love being mutually acceptable.  In the eyes of some churches it is seen as sin.  God knows why straight relationships have survived considering Adam and Eve and the forbidden fruit.  But, eyes are closed and never recalled to that situation.

Like gay rights activists, women's rights activists, civil rights activists, these groups of people have protested, have marched, have voiced their opinion but they have never taken to the streets with guns blazing, killing innocent people because of their beliefs.  Instead, we have stood side by side (sometimes sprooking loudly) but never with guns to attain attention through power. We, as a group, have asked for equality not dominance.  Whereas, as these radical groups do not ask. In fact they are not interested in equality, they are only interested in dominance by force.

To those seeking power, I urge you throw down your guns, listen to the common people, and charge your  glasses with love not war. Join with the real people wanting equality, acceptance and a loving, caring  lifestyle.

To those wearing the purple frocks, sprinkle some glitter of open mindedness. To those insisting on the burka, add a splash of colour and compassion. God damn it, since you have come this far, throw on some tinsel, don a pair of high heals and discard your machine guns and hop aboard the floats to equality town.

In the words of Mother Teresa :- I can do things you cannot; You can do things I cannot; but together we can do great things.

I close these writings in hope that one day we will stand together as one, our voices  will be united in solidarity.  Whatever our path to equality may we find peace. I pray that together we may stand tall, together we may stand united and together.  May our tree of life exude peace, love and harmony.

May our rocky road of life display the colours of the rainbow, and maybe, we all at one time  can be  part of the colourful ingredients of life’s combination of flavours and tastes.

Cheers.

Injustice #elderabuse #dignity #victim

To the Politicians, to the Legislators, to the Health Care Professionals, to those who intend to get old, and to those who give a damn for the aged!

The efforts, in the safeguarding of children against abuse today are well documented and the commitment to the abolition of child abuse is long overdue. However, the inadequacy of protection for another vulnerable group in our society, and that is the elderly, requires effective protective legislation be put in place urgently! This should be similar to that which now affords protection for our children.

To commence my discussion I would like to share my experience of someone who was a victim of institutional abuse as a child and will end his life as a victim of elder abuse. This makes me fear that while they appear to rise above their experiences, and go on to live what appears to be full and rich lives, are these people conditioned at an early age to be victims their whole lives?

To say we come into this world naked, and leave this world the same way, is beautiful thought of how we are equal from day one till our death. We are as equal as the beauty that nature wanted for us.

However, to be stripped bare for an entire life, is a total injustice that no one should ever experience. I sit and watch as a man of greatness is breathing his last breaths in the hands of injustice again. I sit watching, as our laws do not allow this man the dignity of passing in Gods own time, but passing in the hands of yet another abuser.

This man born in 1925, in Scotland, survived being abused as a child to his early teens, in and out of institutional care in the Great Depression. He was devoted till the day his mother and grandmother died, despite their inability to allow him the privilege of a proper home life.  But in his words, These were hard times! Yes indeed, they were hard times but, why did hard times have to be such a hard and damaging time for a child simply being afforded  what we see today as basic necessities?

This man joined the military at a very early age, became a war hero at 17 years of age honoured by the King. He lost his hearing in the right side from this battle and carries the shrapnel to this very day, to remind him why he fought for freedom in World War II.   A freedom that he, and so many others, fought so we may have freedom today - freedom to live; freedom to speak out on injustice; freedom to champion the rights of the oppressed.

The very freedom that this man fought for has been stripped from him yet again, left him naked and vulnerable. But this is not a beauty of nature. This is one of greed, manipulation, isolation and deceit, dressed in the clothes of an old woman who has the heart of a devil.  The very same Hitlertarianism that he battled so hard against has made him a Jew of the Holocaust in his death bed.

At a time when this man should be enjoying his milestone of 90 years in health, he fears that his dignity in death has slipped into the hands of yet another predator, a predator that is only interested in yet another kill. Yes this woman has killed before, another veteran freedom fighter of the military in Japan.

Like her victim before, she has isolated him from the very things he loved and nurtured.  Single handedly she has stripped him bare of his family, his friends, his love of reading, his love of art, and now is stripping him from his clever and witty mind.  So persuasive is this devil that she has her manipulated throngs to aid her into his demise.

The very friends, and relatives, that are able to see through this evil, and pray and speak against this terrorization, are stifled by our justice systems. Our hands are tied in our attempts to save this victim.  We are told by the World Health Organisation to speak out if we fear for our fellow man is a victim of Elder Abuse. But, instead we are hushed into submission as our legislation does not quantify this isolation, and deception, as criminal without what they deem to be solid evidence.  Without the blood and the bullet there is no inquiry. There is no mediation, there is no moral obligation to a victim of Elder Abuse.  Instead health professionals warn the predator of our worries and concerns, in so doing, isolating the abused further from a dignified life and death.

This man, who has cried to us (not in the presence of the devil), Why is this happening, why am I in this position, how can she do this? is so fearful, that instead of being able to fight again, for HIS freedom, is nobbled by the devil and made to fear, and feel, that it is best if he just gives up and dies. To die from illnesses that have never been even told to him, (does he really suffer from any of these) and to be relieved of his so-called pain, by end of life medication, so cunningly explained away by the Devil as Panadol via a cannular, is not just tragic, it is criminal.  But of course these deceptions, and lack of proof for what is he dying from are, in fact, not evidence but simply a caring woman sharing her husbands death????  This is a cold, calculating woman who cannot even share in song, Happy Birthday with those who have rallied to come to his aid.  Instead she drives the wedge of deception further so he is more and more isolated and dependant on this grim reaper of death - his wife.

In Australia we have adopted laws and legislation for child abuse.  We have legislated that these atrocities shall be quashed in the name of the law.  However these legislations have not been adopted for our ever increasing aged.

Instead our politicians and lobbyists do not fight for the legislation that will assist the Elderly.  Yes we set up advocacy groups for the abused elder, the public guardian to assist but, unless these elderly are of impaired capacity there is no system for reporting of such abuse without cold hard facts.  Do the legislators not understand that these elderly are victims who already live in fear?  And, in speaking out for themselves, will only further their existing isolation and abuse, because their very predator, is often the one that is acting in their best interests.

In our legislated laws against child abuse, our schools, our community groups, our medical practitioners, and indeed, normal people have the opportunity to speak out about any suspicion of child abuse confidentially and, with confidence that our children will be safe and that something will be done to support these children. Reporting is mandatory, and though there may be some suspicions of over zealous people, we can feel secure that our young will have a safe environment free from perpetrators of crime.

However, our elderly do not have the protection afforded to the children. We, as caring citizens, are not afforded the ability to report on Elder Abuse without hard fact to support our claims. Somehow in my mind, this is blatant discrimination against the aged.

We, Australian citizens, are told of our responsibilities in the reporting of child abuse, to report breeches of border protection, report drug trafficking and impending crime.  However, our elderly are not afforded the same protection status of those aforementioned.

In conclusion, I am begging that our Elderly are given the same right of passage as our children. Give them dignity to live without fear. Give them the dignity to live without isolation.  Give them the dignity to feel safe, and that our laws will include them until their God given time has arrived.

There are far too many silent sufferers. Not because they don't yearn to reach out, but because they've tried and found no one who cares.     -- Richelle E. Goodrich

But for the Grace of God! #love #compassion #caring

My post on the blog, the other day, expressed my feelings of loss and sadness with the passing of Robin Williams. I am obviously not alone in my grief, as the tributes and accolades continue to pour in from many around the world.  To those who read my post and emailed, agreeing to adopt my 'you & me' policy, I thank you.  To those who replied in a less than courteous manner, my response is 'But for the Grace of God go you'.

Not one of us have closed our eyes eternally as yet. Unless, of course, you are one of the minority who responded in a disrespectful manner to my writing. You too, are probably the same ones that caused Zelda Williams to close her accounts on social media because of your inhumane ramblings on his passing. Do you not think that this family has suffered enough. They were gracious enough to share their beautiful thoughts and memories, with a public that mourned with them. To you that are eternally closed eyed and venom mouthed, I hope that you may one day learn a sense of compassion, and acceptance, for minorities that are born like the rest of us with skin and, a need for oxygen to exist.

Until we all learn to accept and tolerate our differences, this world will be a source of angst for any minority.  Discrimination of any kind should not be tolerated and actually be penalized by every country in this world.  I know this is probably a 'pie in the sky' ambition, but only then can we co-exist on equal footing.  Let us as caring human beings be there to help, be there to guide, be there to comfort others, that we classify as somehow different to what we perceive as normal.

This man took his life out of desperation, a desperation born of depression. This desperation can manifest itself differently from person to person.  This desperation may strike anyone at anytime. Therefore, we should try to be there for them. And, be there for those that are left to cope with the trauma that befronts them, as well as their personal gut wrenching loss.

Not one person on this earth should suffer discrimination at the hands of people (and I use that word nicely) who evoke hatred and separatism. Our lives have not ended and we cannot tell what is around the corner for any of us.  I believe love can cure all, and that love has no gender, race or disability. The love that we share, and reach out to others with, should be as personal as we want the love in our own lives to be.  The good books of life, no matter what religion, are based on love, compassion and care.  Why should religions adjust the fundamental ability to love on the basis of man made laws. The God of whatever we believe in, gave the gift of love.  Not a gift that has provisos of who we should love or how we should love.  We we given from birth a heart untouched by bigotry and hate and therefore, no religion nor government should place boundaries on who we love or who we help.

I believe that as long as we are not hurting anyone in our love, no one should be discriminated against.  I believe in the case of Robin Williams, not one of us has the right to judge his actions. I have nothing but admiration for this man and feel a deep sense of sadness that he had reached a point in his life where he felt he could no longer go on.  None of us know his desperation, emptiness and sadness and, until we walk in his or anyone else's  shoes, we do not own the right to discriminate nor judge him or anyone else.

To those who believe in my 'You & Me' policy, I am with you 100%.  To those with empty heart and closed eyes, my wish for you is that you may turn your anger to compassion, your hate to love, and your discrimination to equality.

And in recognition of a great man who lost his way I beg that all may turn to the person on their right or left and say, 'You are not Alone'.

Till next time keep those emails coming, and take care,

Cheers,

Make Em Laugh! #respect #love #condolences

Today we, the world, lost a dear friend.  Today, we lost someone who always brought a smile back to our faces.  Someone who made us feel better.  Our very own 'Patch Adams' - Mr Robin Williams. May he find the peace he craved!

NaNu NaNu - Rest in Peace Dear Friend
Ironic that the man who could light up the world with laughter, was indeed hiding his torment and fears behind his persona.  A successful man, a father, a husband, and one, whom we would presume was well with the world and loved by all.

This illness that took our friend is an illness that is lingering in the corridors, the streets, and indeed in our very own backyards.  An illness that has no quick fix remedy and can strike and wreak havoc on anyone. This illness is not concerned with its victim's colour, race, creed or circumstance.  When it strikes, it not only strikes the victims, but leaves a path of destruction in its wake for those around the affected person and indeed, the world.  The after shocks incurred by this illness, leave people with a loss and mourning that, quite often, is deeper than any other illness.  In most circumstances those around have not had time to prepare for the unthinkable.  This illness strikes quickly, and there can be little, or no warning, to prepare for or indeed stop, this catastrophe.

Quite often these people show no signs of their condition.  Many, many people live with the Black Dog of depression and go about their daily lives with their masks of normality hiding the sadness, the despair and the hopelessness. It appears that often these larrikins use their laughter to hide the most silent of tears behind this veneer, showing to the world, a life that looks pristine and perfect to those around them.

The research scientists for this illness are simple folk.  These scientists are "You & Me".  Each, and everyone of us, have been given the qualifications from the highest education system there is.  Each, and everyone of us, has been given the doctorate at birth of love and compassion from our own God.

We the scientists have a duty to observe, inoculate and heal those who have contracted this most silent of diseases.  Yes our Petri dishes and Beakers may break from time to time but, we cannot stop our duty to heal our fellow man.  We as partners in this fabric of life must break the cycle.  Our observatory skills must be ready at anytime.  Our humble skills need to be there in the form of a shoulder, a smile, an ear, an adviser for those who have succumb to this illness before and after they seek help.

We need this amazing man's passing to be a reminder that each, and everyone of us, has a duty to stop this illness.  We need to turn, in love, to everyone around us.  Depression is constructed in many forms, but you and I have the power to stop this senseless slaughter.  The molecules of bullying, agism, sexism, racism can be cured by the greatest scientists on earth, "You & Me.

You and I must take our oath of office today.  Together we can make a difference.  Together we can administer our prescription of love, care and compassion.

These are my thoughts and I look forward to more comments to my emails.  Until next time, take care.

Cheers!

Fuzzy Balls #sharing #community #cooperation

As you may have figured by now, I am quite into fashion and trying to look my best. My partner, however, is not!  Though he does like to wear my clothes and save his own money. However, he could dress in a horse blanket and still look great. Oh, the perils of a clothes horse.

In our relationship we share most things.  Somethings we do well together as a team. Others we are capable of, but better at, or more experienced to do alone.  This is common within any household. General cleaning etc we share.  Cooking he mainly attends, I do on occasions but, I don't have the savoir-faire that he does. So, I tend to limit my dining experiences to the decoration of the table, the ambient music (that he can't hear owing to being deaf) and the eating. Oh and lets not forget, the toasting of his culinary successes with the glasses of champagne. (Ooops did I pluralize that?)

Anyway I deviate from our Fuzzy Balls.  Despite our differences in clothing, one thing we really share is the preening that goes into cleanliness and hygiene. Our hot water bills will attest to that. Neither of us like things out of place, both body and home. One of us, not saying which, jumps faster than me as soon as he sees things getting a little messy.  This jumping can sometimes carry a downside to his obsession for his saving money, not wasting time, and environmental efficiency.

To elaborate, I tend to throw things in the washer to sort later. He, on the other hand, sees the opportunity to save time and just throw anything in on top without sorting.  Yes, it gets clean but those fuzzy balls that appear on my beautiful sweaters when they emerge from the wash just drive me balmy.  This is  one of the said jobs that I am happier to do.  Yes, I am happy to do this, peg our socks in rows on the line, to pick after dry and, allow him to iron later.  But, please don't touch the washer and give us fuzzy balls over our smooth attachments. Yes I realize that you see it and want everything ship shape, but leave it to the expert!

Having said all of this, each and everyone of us has something to contribute to each other's lives. Something,s we shine at and somethings, others shine at.  This being said, if we just pool our shining attributes, we can work together to make things better.  All of us are different, but if we share our talents, the whole world may benefit.  It is far more beneficial to pool our resources and work together than it is to stand and watch from the sideline.  I am sure most of us have the goal of getting along and making everyone else's, and our own lives, less complicated, less alone, less fragmented.Yes there will be fuzzy ball days but, if we share, take responsibility, and give a little, those days will surely become less frequent.

If we learn to share those frustrating days with others, we can learn to experience others strengths and weaknesses.  Offer our strengths to the pool of life and work together for a common goal and that is compassion, love and acceptance.

These are my thoughts, I hope that you will give me your thoughts about my fuzzy balls.  Until next time, take care!

Cheers

You've Got a Friend #love #compassion #goodness #peace

A few years ago I went to a concert of James Taylor and Carol King. I had heard their song a millions of times in my life, and every time I heard it, it stirred the emotions inside me.  It is of sorts, a flagship of my thoughts. I have tried, and always will try, to be as good, and inclusive, with friends and family as I can be.  To this day it still makes me teary and I think of friends and family. It conjures up memories of the past and its relevance to the present.  Music has always given me strength and pleasure, it makes me meditate, it makes me happy and it heals my sadness.

Happy and sad tears are quite often discouraged with guys and if you do have tears, a lot of people out there say, 'Ah yea, he is gay.'  'That's what they do.'  I however, find tears to be a cleansing, a renewal to my soul, a joyful peace release.  Something that I feel is my greatest asset, something that stirs my emotions, something that brings me alive. (Also good for the tissue manufacturers!) It gives me an outpouring that makes me strive to be a better person.  And you know, I don't care what people say about tears.  In fact, I think that most worldly decisions would be better made over a tear and a thought for our fellow man.

peacetour.org

I remember looking around that concert stadium and seeing tears, and emotion, run rampant with that song.  Tears from people of all creeds, colour, age, and gender.  If their were no tears there was a sea of glazed eyes thinking of goodness, love and peace.  There was not one sign of bitterness, or hate, to be found.  Yes, tears and emotions were so high, that one would wish now that all political and religious decisions were made there and then.  If all political and religious leaders showed the emotion of that stadium, there would be no wars. There would be no segregation, no discrimination and no missiles aimlessly launched into airliners that hold the treasure of family, friends, and professionals who may well hold the key to disease. The world would be a far greater place.

Personally, I would recommend that, that song, should be a worldwide anthem. Scrap the anthems that have no current meaning.  Make 'You've Got a Friend' the anthem!  Encourage our children who are our future to sing it loud, to sing it proud.  Without friends and without emotion this world cannot survive.  Encourage our religious and political leaders to take a leaf from children's minds.  Minds that see no barriers of race, colour, gender or creed.  Minds that are genuine.  Minds that depend on love. Minds that are nurtured by caring and minds that see only good in people.

Encourage your children to feel emotion and, to express it.  These children are our future. As adults, let's dispense with the thought that tears and emotion are a sign of weakness. Let's encourage an outpouring of our souls and only then may we feel for our fellow man. Let's make this world a stadium of feeling, compassion and friendship.  Let's not teach our children our bigotries, our biases our selfishness or our greed, but teach them the love that we give them in their cribs.  The love that they are the most wonderful creatures on earth.

Only then can we see a world that is truly better without wars, without missiles, a world full of peace love and harmony.

These are my thoughts.  Reach out today and tell someone you love and care for them.  It can only get better.

Cheers!

Reach Out and Touch #caring #compassion #isolation

In the last few days we have witnessed the horror of a plane being shot down, completely destroyed, along with the lives of hundreds of great people.  To the families and friends of those lost, we hold up our prayers for you, and yours, in your time of mourning and for the beyond.Losing someone to wreckage is a very difficult time as you do not have the chance to walk with them through their journey.  You don't have time to plan beyond.  And if there was unrest between you, there is no time for a joint settlement and peace.

quotesvalley.com

How easy is it, to be here today and gone tomorrow?  None of us, can afford to leave the opportunity to reach out and touch the lives of others while they are still here. We must offer support and walk with them through their journey.  Not one of us is privy to the time when we will finally close our eyes. Once the window of opportunity has closed, there is no second chance, no second take. This is not a dress rehearsal. What we have, is what we've got!  It takes very little, to show someone care and compassion.  It is so easy to touch someone and show that you are there. It's easy to let others feel the warm breath of comfort.  However, once that chance has gone, there is no turning back the clock.

Recently, I wrote a post on the blog about following someone, as they follow you, on social media.  I spoke of heads of churches, and aid organizations, having followers by the millions but, these people rarely follow back.  I have spoken of prevention and caring before so, I wrote to one of the agencies that offers help to people with emotional difficulties.  I asked why they don't follow people back.  The answer I received was, they don't have the facilities nor the manning capabilities to follow back.  A fair call I guess! But, I cannot understand why that question could be answered with such haste, while that same person could merely click the follow button on their screen for those people, who actually follow them. The number of emails I received in agreement with my question was amazing.  There were people from all walks of life and personal circumstances, most of whom never needed the services, but nonetheless agreed with what I had said.

This is where I say - that 'follow', that 'like', that 'touch' - may prevent someone from doing something from which they cannot turn back.  That 'follow', that 'like', that 'touch', allows people the thought that someone is there. It allows the people who may be contemplating something life changing, or God forbid, life threatening to realize that these organizations are made up of humans. Caring people, and not robots, who only care for numbers rather than people. People that they are espousing should care for their fellow man.

I said that there were people like myself, who would volunteer to press those 'follow' buttons, so that these people would feel that someone was there with them.  The second response to this comment was that it would be passed on to the appropriate leaders, and they would look into it.

My problem with most people who say, 'We will look into it' are quite often, only looking into a mirror at their own reflection. Obviously, never contemplating the needs of those around them and the benefits, that 'follow', that 'like', that 'touch' may bring.  Quite often these same people only care how much it may effect their work load or their lifestyle.  Yes, it is ok for these people, for when and if the time comes for one of their own, they have myriad's of helpers at their fingertips to help 'their' needy.  God help those, that may have only needed that breath of comfort of knowing, they were being 'followed'.

All I am asking that we who were born naked (not those that were born with that silver spoon) reach out and touch someone else's life, before it is indeed, too late.

Write in more and lets discuss this - maybe together we can encourage others to care more.

Cheers!

You are not alone! #caring #hope #compassion

For the last week or so I have had a friend stay with us and she suffers from cold urticaria (basically hives) that causes skin irritation and gets very itchy when exposed to the cold.  I only just recently found out this condition so I read up on the prevention methods of it.  I knew she was coming into our winter and I did not want to see her scratch away.

Google is a great source for those who would like a basic knowledge of things so my fingers did the clicking away.  I read up on doctors forums etc and found that one basic fix was prevention. So my partner and I decided to hit the shops.  Another past time of mine so it was no big deal.  We searched for warm clothing, boots, gloves, hot water bottles anything that was out there for prevention we swiped our cards so as not to let them catch this dreaded condition.  Before she arrived we ask her to check her medications etc and sure enough she changed those and all started to correct itself.  She works in air conditioning that is set by her bosses to freeze an expression off a Cheshire Cat.  We asked her to rug up in there and to her amazement the itches subsided.

When she arrived here we handed her a  fluffy dressing gown, warm slippers and yes she resembled a purple Eskimo but no scratching.  We cranked up the central heating and I persuaded her (ok nagged) to follow through with our preventative measures.  Gay boys learned many years ago that covering up was the only prevention to stopping a formidable itch so to speak.  Apart from an occasional scratch, that was borne out of stubbornness not  to conform, and not to cover her load, she came to the conclusion that we were right.  Of course, I said and would proceed in my distribution of prevention.
This friend of mine is a great doer but never for herself.  In the past few years she has only started to get away from her comfort zone of home and work and has had quite a few trips to here.  Other than that, she does not venture anywhere.  Her husband went on a holiday to Europe but, alas he went with his family.  She stayed snug in her cocoon.  My partner and myself are heading for Europe at Christmas. We were hoping she would join us, and from that moment, the barriers came to the front of conversations. Oh its cold there she would say!  My response, "Buy warmer clothes'. They do have central heating you know. We got past that and then the truth started festering like irritations on her skin. This woman is scared to leave her comfort zone.

Yes, we discussed quite heatedly sometimes which is great for a person in her condition.  Stops hives before the cold even sets in.  This is a problem she wants to fix also but has never had anyone stop and help her before.  Everyone until me (oops) has let her fix their problems and forgotten hers.
This topic bears discussion.  Do we take time for others?  Do we look beyond our noses to see others need some nurturing no matter what the age?  Yes she is somewhere between 40 and death but doesn't she deserve some excitement of her own.  Doesn't she deserve to be the receiver and not the giver?

We all must learn to look around us.  There are people out there that need help.  People in our own families, friends, children.  Unless we offer help, these people will never leave that cocoon.  Yes, some people want to live like Greta Garbo and 'want to be alone'  but some have no choice because no one has taken the time to inquire.  With some people it might take a little time to set them free, but surely everyone is entitled to a little gentle push, a caring hand.  Or you may like to borrow my little gay nagging outfit.  Either way, try the rewards can be a win, win.

These are my thoughts on the matter, drop us a line and give us your thoughts.  I enjoy the debate.  All those who do email us know that this world is a far better place together than being separated and it scratches your itch too.

Let your friends and family know 'You are not alone'

Cheers!

In the Arms of an Angel! #angel #compassion #love #forgiveness

Last night I was talking with  my dearest friend and she had said how she was doing a bit for a new found friend. She did not say she was busy, she did not say she was stressed. She did not say I am needed elsewhere so haven't got time for you. She simply said she was doing a bit for her friend. This person is ever humble in her concern, her help, her care for her fellow man.  She sees something needs doing and she ploughs right in and does it. There is self sacrifice without self involved.

Her friend moved to the area for a new beginning, many miles from her former home. Started life anew. New friends, new job, new goals and new dreams. Everything was moving ahead with her life and those that gave her strength in her new start.  Suddenly from nowhere comes the news that she has a serious illness with a not so good prognosis. Every so often I attend funerals and you hear some crying buckets of tears, crying the loudest. They are also the ones crying, 'I had no idea he/she was even sick'.  I ask myself why?  Why did they not know?  When did they last make contact?  When did they stretch out their hand to help?  Why are they even attending this persons celebration of life?

We all attend funerals and we all mourn for that person.  But can we honestly say we cared.  Did we offer support for the person or those around them. Yes it is nice to release the tears and show others our loss.  But did we have anything to lose?  When we meet in another life, will that person even recognize us or simply pass us by.  The same way we passed them by in their hour of need.

My friend is one of these people that no one will ever pass by in another life.  My friend takes everyone on her wing.  I did not say under her wing.  My friend puts them and everyone around on her wing and gives them vision, gives them strength, gives them faith that they can handle these difficult times.  Putting under her wing would smother them.  No my friend lifts them so they can see clearly and helps to guide them.  Quite often she is seen as pragmatist.  Yes, she is, but in one of the kindest ways I could only try to achieve. She offers help. She gives it. But if not required, she steps back and allows that person to believe, and know, that they can achieve without assistance.  Giving everyone the knowledge that even in weakness we can achieve. They can lead, even from behind, whatever curve ball we have been passed.

I know what I want to be to those around me. I don't want to be one of those crying, when I never built a true friendship, to really know the feeling of loss.  I want to be able, in good times and in bad, to show and share with  my friends, and family, that there is dignity in every stage of life and no one can take that dignity without our permission.

Yes I want to strive to take my loved ones on my wing, not smother, but to help and guide them in good times and in bad.  But, when they face that stark cold hotel room of life, I want to help  them.  I want to help them make their fears empty and weightless, and deliver them into the arms of a true angel, where they may find some comfort.

My thoughts!

Cheers!
